Privacy policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026

1. Introduction

This privacy policy describes how Sealio collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use our site and our AI sales copilot application. It applies to the site usesealio.com and to the associated web application.

2. Data controller

The data controller is:

  • Sealio (trading name, legal entity being incorporated)
  • Legal entity: [TO BE COMPLETED BY RÉGIS: registered legal entity name]
  • Postal address: [TO BE COMPLETED BY RÉGIS: registered office postal address]
  • Contact: hello@usesealio.com

No DPO or separate EU representative has been appointed at this date — all data requests should be sent to hello@usesealio.com.

3. Data we collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Identity data: name, email address, company name (entered when the account is created).
  • Account data: login credentials, subscription preferences, billing history.
  • Usage data: interactions with the site, the application and the copilot's features (measured through PostHog, with your consent).
  • Communication data: audio processed locally, and transcripts generated in real time during sales calls, in compliance with applicable law and the permissions you obtained from participants.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser, operating system (collected automatically for security and operational purposes).
  • Language preference: the language you choose for the site and the application, stored in a cookie and on your account.
  • Early-access data: email address, plan interest, what you sell, discovery channel and first-visit attribution (UTM parameters, landing page and referrer) when you join the waitlist.

4. Purposes of processing

Your data is processed for the following purposes:

  • Creating and managing your user account.
  • Delivering the service: real-time transcription, key-moment detection, generating suggestions.
  • Managing billing and subscriptions through Paddle, our merchant of record and payment processor, which calculates any sales tax or VAT at checkout.
  • Sending transactional emails related to your account (password reset, team invitation, address verification).
  • Showing the site and the application in your language.
  • Managing the early-access waitlist and attributing a signup to its first marketing campaign.
  • Measuring traffic and improving the product, with your consent (PostHog).
  • Meeting our legal and regulatory obligations.

5. Subprocessors

We use the following subprocessors, all strictly necessary to deliver the service. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Browser extension

The Sealio extension for Chrome/Edge is an additional client that lets you use the copilot during video meetings (Google Meet, Zoom web, Microsoft Teams web).

The extension captures the meeting tab's audio and your microphone locally, mixes them, and streams them in real time to our transcription service (Deepgram). No raw audio recording is kept after transcription.

The suggestion overlay is displayed only on your screen. It is injected into the meeting page through an isolated content script (Shadow DOM) and is not transmitted in the camera feed, the chat or the screen share seen by other participants.

The extension authenticates with Sealio using a revocable API key, stored locally in your browser. You can revoke that key at any time from your settings.

Before each session, you are responsible for obtaining participants' consent to transcription and AI assistance, as required by applicable law.

7. Legal basis for processing

Processing of your data is based on:

  • Performance of the contract for delivering the service, managing your account and billing.
  • Your consent for analytics cookies (PostHog) — revocable at any time through the cookie settings.
  • Sealio's legitimate interest in security, fraud prevention and improving the service.
  • Compliance with applicable legal obligations (accounting, retention of payment records, and so on).

8. Retention periods

Your data is kept for as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected for:

  • Account data: for the duration of the commercial relationship, then deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after the account is closed.
  • Billing data and accounting records: as required by applicable law (generally 10 years for accounting documents).
  • Transcripts and call data: for the retention period configured in your account.
  • Analytics data (PostHog): per PostHog's retention policy and your consent.

9. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable local regulations, you have the following rights:

  • The right to access your personal data.
  • The right to have inaccurate data corrected.
  • The right to erasure (the "right to be forgotten") in the cases provided for by the regulation.
  • The right to restrict processing.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • The right to withdraw consent for the processing that depends on it (cookies, analytics).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in your country of residence (in France: the CNIL, www.cnil.fr).

10. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses analytics cookies (PostHog) with your consent, plus a functional cookie that remembers your language. For the full list of trackers and to manage your preferences, see our Cookie policy.

11. Security

Sealio implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction (HTTPS, tenant isolation, secure authentication, restricted access). No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is entirely infallible, however.
